Scoliosis

Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine. It is a spinal disorder, not a disease. A variety of nerve and muscle disorders can produce scoliosis. Since there are no medications to treat scoliosis, early detection is extremely important. The doctor may deliver a series of gentle adjustments to prevent further malformation or alleviate some of the more debilitating aspects of scoliosis. If left untreated, a scoliotic spine can progress into permanent bodily disfigurement and compression of the internal organs.
